Farmer’s cheese with good character

A full matured farmer’s cheese with good character. This beautiful farmer’s cheese has been maturing in our warehouse for about 4 months. The Montbéliarde cheeses are made from raw cow’s milk. The taste of this cheese is creamy, rich and with that real peasant accent. The breed Montbéliarde comes from the Jura in France. It grew out of the merging of several local breeds where the greatest influence was the red and white breed. Because the cows originate in mountainous areas, they are very strong and can easily adapt to different conditions. Tough ladies who don’t give up easily. They have more muscles than Holstein cows and can therefore withstand a bump. The ladies give high values to protein and fat content, which allows you to make beautiful cheese specialties. In the “Gelderse vallei” approximately 65 Montbéliarde cows graze on pastures between wood girders.
