• 1955 - Founded In 1955 Evert Treur, born as a farmer's son, started selling cheese to cheese shops in the Netherlands. On his bike, with his pannier loaded with Gouda cheese and farmer’s cheese, he brought the cheese to the cheese shops every week.
  • 1955 - Purchase first car In November 1955 Evert started his own cheese company with a warehouse on the Havenstraat in Woerden. Here there was room for about 100 to 150 cheeses. That went so well that he decided to buy his first car.
  • 1956 - Trade is getting started The trade went well and together with three starting colleagues Evert Treur took over a warehouse on the Jan de Bakkerstraat. There was room for 60,000 kg of cheese.
  • 1959 - First private warehouse In 1959 Evert Treur had his first warehouse built between the Havenstraat and Rijnstraat in Woerden. This warehouse had two floors and an elevator. There was room for 120,000 kg of cheese.
  • 1968 - Nature Warehouse In 1968 Evert Treur bought the old flour factory of Arie Blok on the Oudelandseweg 44 in Woerden. He converted this into a nature warehouse. It gave room to 320,000 kg of cheese.
  • 1981 - New generation Daan Treur In May 1981 it was time for a new generation within the company. Daan Treur was the first to work in the business. He took over the driver's place and initially helped with the polishing and turning of the cheese.
  • 1981 - Building a new warehouse The company grew, and the warehouse became too small. That's why Evert Treur decided to buy a piece of land along the Oude Rijn in Woerden. Here he built three warehouses, one warehouse for each son. There was room for 500,000 kg of cheese.
  • 1991 - René Treur In 1991 René Treur came into the business. René focused on the physically demanding work in the warehouse, running orders, turning cheeses and treating them..
  • 1995 - Evert Treur 65 jaar In 1995 Evert Treur reached the age of 65. After 40 years of working with heart and soul for the company, Evert decided it was time to hand over the baton to his sons. Evert Treur received a medal of honor from the Queen's Commissioner for his work for E.M. Treur and his service for the church.
  • 2005 - New office building and cheese cellar In 2005, there was a greater demand for a new and bigger office. With the construction of this office, Evert’s dream to build a cheese cellar also came true. Under the office building, space was made to build a special cheese cellar where approximately 200,000 kg of cheese can be matured.
  • 2015 - Third generation At the beginning of 2015, Eduard Treur started as account manager at Treur kaas. Eduard Treur is the son of Daan Treur. With this, the third generation has entered the family business.
  • 2020 - New Corporate Identity In 2019, Treur Kaas has been given a new corporate identity. Where before everything was purple and orange at Treur Kaas, it has now all turned blue and yellow. In 2020, the building was renovated and all expressions were redesigned!
