Jerseyhoeve Schorren wins ‘Best of the Best 2020’ at the International Cheese and Dairy Awards!

 

The aged organic Jersey cheese: Jerseyhoeve Schorren wins this summer at the International Cheese and Dairy Awards: ‘Best of the Best 2020’! As a result of COVID-19, the competition was only among the Supreme Champions of the last 5 years. We are really proud to announce our Jerseyhoeve Schorren won again.  The competitors were:  Lancashire – Greenfields Dairy (2015), Red Cheshire – Belton Cheese (2018) en Wife of Bath – Bath Soft Cheese Company (2019).

In 2016 Jerseyhoeve Schorren won the title ‘Supreme Champion’ out of 5.000 international cheese entries. “An amazing result for this aged Dutch Jersey cheese” Daan Treur.

Jerseyhoeve Bio Schorren is an organic cheese made from 100% Dutch Jerseymilk. The cheese is artisanal made by the local cheese maker De Mèkkerstee. The cheese is matured for 1 year on wooden shelves in the warehouse of Treur Kaas. Her taste is superior and the cheese has some nice small ripening crystals. Would like to know more? Click HERE.

The International Cheese Awards

De International Cheese Awards is an annual event in Nantwich United Kingdom. In this world’s largest cheese competition 31 countries are competing to win Golden Awards. The show has 380 categories, 5.000 entries from 261 parties. Normally, the jury of 276 cheese experts of the industrie will test each cheese to announce winners. This year the show was cancelled due to COVID-19. Therefore the competition was among the last 5 supreme winners.
